There’s a good chance you are reading this because you stumbled across it. Or maybe you have chosen to follow me online and I posted about it with a link and now you are here. Whatever way you have come to view this blog post: Hello!
Now… Who the heck is Lily Williams?
There are a few different ways to learn about who I am from the internet. A brief tour of my Linkedin will tell you where I have worked. While a creep amongst my instagram might lend you insight into more of my thoughts and things I like. What all of these things have in common is that they are brief and glossy. I find that I am very good, as an introvert who spends a significant amount of time alone, at hiding a lot of what I think. Starting a blog is like a personal challenge for me, to discuss things more in depth without a limit of 140 characters or less. I am a writer, after all.
So where do I start?
The basics are that I am a twenty-something curly haired, kinda short, glasses wearing, professional author and artist. I grew up in the Bay Area of California, where I am living now, after a couple years in Los Angeles. I have two rescue bunnies, Oliver and Owen, who can be found sitting behind me while I draw and work. I can often be not found in a lot of places, because I avoid crowds. All of this may change at some point… except for the short thing. I have a feeling I might not be getting taller anytime soon.
Those things that I said about myself are all very vague. I could have described several different people. One thing about me is that I think loving is brave and doesn’t get the credit it deserves. So here are some things that I love, because the combination of these things helps make me into me.
Some things I love:
- That point when you are watching a tv show and it gets really good
- Cracking the spine on a new book
- Falling into a book world and not being able to get out
- That sound airplanes make in the rain
- When someone tells me that their art is just what they needed right now
- Floating under water and looking up at the rays of sun dance along the ocean surface
- Seeing people help other people
- Swimming in the rain
- Finding a new favorite restaurant
- Learning something new
- Spinach
- Farmers markets
- Seeing my bunnies get excited about treats
